The Box

The Box is a metaphor used to refer to the psychological restrictions placed upon us as a result of system indoctrination and socialization. The box refers to the psychological constructs, ideas, and archetypes that cause us to accept limitation.

There are many aspects of limitation that we accept as part of our socialization and indoctrination process. We expect, for example, the limitations of Gender (i.e. girls like this/act like this), the limitations of Social Class (you're only good for certain tasks), the limitations of intelligence (you have an IQ set at birth), and so on. As this box is constructed around us, we gradually and inexorably reduce our perceptions of who we are and what we are capable of.

As if psychological and behavioral restrictions on our self perception were not enough, these restrictions are accompanied by an archetypal indoctrination process that teaches us that we are lacking in some way. We are "ejected from the garden," we are "in need of evolutionary advancement," "we need to prove our selves worthy," etc. In this way, The Box becomes a negative space that requires constant activity and effort in what amounts to a futile attempt to fill in the negative space.

The psychological, physical, and emotional costs of living with The Box are significant. The imposition of The Box amounts to a concerted suppression of divinity. Where we should be teaching our children that they are God incarnation and capable of creating anything they wish to create, instead we spend decades trying to diminish them to the point where they become mere shadows of their full potential and light.
